Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 28, 2026

This policy describes what information is handled when you read elevety.com, a site about wearable tech, running and cycling, and what choices you have. The operator is the person or organisation that runs Elevety, and the words we and us refer to that operator throughout the text below.

What our servers record

When a page from Elevety is delivered to you, the server keeps a routine log. An entry can include your IP address, the time of the request, the article asked for, your browser and device type, and the page that sent you here. We use these records to keep the site running, to find faults and abuse, and to see in general terms whether readers prefer gadget reviews, running guides or cycling advice.

Cookies and similar technology

Elevety may use cookies or similar browser storage. Some are needed so pages display properly. Others, where switched on, count visits, remember a reading preference, serve advertising or record that a visitor arrived at a watch, shoe or bike retailer through one of our links so that an affiliate referral can be credited. A cookie set by an advertiser or analytics provider is under that provider’s control, not ours.

Controlling tracking in your browser

You can block or clear cookies in your browser, browse privately or use extensions that limit trackers. Where your browser broadcasts a global privacy or do-not-track preference, we handle it as a request to opt out, as far as our analytics and ad settings can act on it. Blocking certain cookies may change how some features of the site work.

Email and anything you send us

If you write to [email protected], we receive your address and whatever you decide to include. That might be a correction to a review of a heart rate strap or a question about a training article. We use it to answer you, to fix the page and to keep a record of the exchange. Your email is never sold, and a quote from it would only appear on the site after you agreed.

Please leave out workout logs, health details and location tracks. If you share them anyway, we will use them only to deal with your message.

Newsletters and forms

If Elevety offers a newsletter or a form, what you enter is used for that purpose, such as sending the updates you requested. Any newsletter will carry a way to unsubscribe, and an email asking to be taken off the list works just as well.

Outside services we rely on

A website like this depends on others. They may include hosting and content delivery, analytics, advertising and affiliate networks, and embedded items such as videos of routes or product demonstrations. These providers may receive technical details about your visit so their service can function, and they handle that data under their own terms and notices, which we encourage you to read.

How long data stays

Visit logs from the server are held for a short period, after which they are removed or summarised in figures that identify nobody. Emails are kept while they help us reply, correct an article or meet a legal duty, and are removed once that need ends.

Asking about your information

Depending on where you live, you may be entitled to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to some uses and to withdraw consent given earlier. To make a request, email [email protected] and say what you want done. Before acting on a request we may ask a question or two to check it really comes from you, and we will reply within the time limit that applies where you live.

Children

Elevety is written for a general audience, including adults who run and ride, and is not aimed at children under 13. Nothing on the site is designed to gather data from young readers. If a parent tells us that a child has emailed us, we will delete that message.

Security

The site is served over encrypted connections, and only the operator reads the contact inbox. No system connected to the internet is perfectly safe, so we cannot promise complete protection.

Data crossing borders

Providers behind Elevety may handle data in other countries, where the rules can differ from those at your home. Reading the site from anywhere means your visit data can be processed along that route.

Updates to this policy

This policy will be rewritten if Elevety adds new analytics, ad or newsletter tools, or if the legal rules shift. The effective date at the top shows when the current text began, and continuing to read Elevety after a change means you accept the revised version.

Your consent and the regulator

You may take back any consent you gave us at any point; what happened before stays lawful. Our Cookie Policy page sets out which cookies are used and how to change your mind about them. Not satisfied with our answer? In the EU, EEA and UK you may complain to your data protection authority (the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK); in Australia, to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
